Neuro Linguistic Programming - Time For A Change!

Practitioners: LeAnn Bae

It is very common nowadays to go into a Hypnotherapist and end up getting both Hypnosis & Neuro Linguistic Programming (commonly called NLP) as the two work together very well.

Mainly, in session, you would have difficulty knowing which one was being used as they overlap in many ways. Both, have techniques to assist you to retrain your subconscious mind and enable you to change your life.

NLP uses mind pictures with feelings, sounds, thoughts, smells, tastes to help you reset your mind. Some people get pictures stuck in their mind that cause them to behave in ways they don't like to so changing the mind pictures allow them to stop the behavior.

NLP is also good for projecting a positive future. You actually can manipulate old mind pictures into new better pictures that can change your life significantly. For example, if your old mind pictures/ideas say "Rich people will go to Hell because they are so selfish" (so I better not be rich), then you will have trouble having money in abundance.

You can change that idea to a more positive one where you make lots of money and use the extra to help the poor so you remain consistent with your belief of loving and sharing with others, but you can make money in abundance.

It is important that the negative mind pictures are found or the new ones have difficulty sticking.

NLP has many other aspects to it as well - such as how to think in a logical way, how to catch inconsistencies in thinking and how to talk in a way that the listener will really "get" what you are saying. There are many books written on NLP.

Some aspects of NLP are very useful in sales as they help people "read" other people and develop rapport (a quick way to get people to feel understood) which makes a big difference when you want to sell something.

Big companies pay big bucks to train their sales people in NLP in order to teach them how to build rapport with potential clients.

Knowing how to develop "rapport" in other situations is very useful - for example, with your teenager or with an angry spouse. The originators of NLP techniques said: "It can change your life" and they were right!
